Palm oil is one of the more important edible oils and they also found an important use in areas such as biofuel. As a food product, the safety and quality monitoring of the palm oil during the production process is important. Some of the quality parameters are free-fatty acids, moisture, DOBI, etc.
Working closely with our customer in this area, we aim to develop instruments and techniques for on-site real-time monitoring of various palm oil quality. In one project for one of the key parameter monitoring, we moved from an intense Lab-based samples testing using multiple spectroscopy techniques to an on-site prototype for data correlation for real-time in-line monitoring, all within 12months.
